News clippings and the future of the County

Some sites are posting the latest news clippings about Los Alamos county. These clippings are about potential environmental releases in the county.

From the point of view of news, these clippings are the current news. From the point of view of the future of the Lab (see notes by GL below), these clippings strike me as a distraction from getting anything productive accomplished.

Anyone else has thoughts on this topic?

I believe you are correct. The agenda of the PATB blog is not a positive one.

I don't know whether the agenda of PATB is sinister or not.

I do believe that the collection of comments are indicative of disorganization, lack of cohesiveness and untethered frustration and with the only apparent goal of the blogs being 'an open forum to discuss any and all LANL-related issues', there is a stream-of-consciousness effect. What that means to me is that you may see a hundred rants and one profound thought requiring that you pick and choose the valid points and leave the others to wither on the vine, so to speak.

I believe there are so many employees and families in Los Alamos county that are trying to maintain a balance between paranoia , patience and preparation so they are not left in dire straits if circumstances shift even more dramatically and they are left without a workable plan.

As a couple in our 40's, I know we are trying to stay on an even keel while we consider options but the thought of losing the equity in our home and trying to recover in another community while putting kids through college is pretty overwhelming so we contemplate what to expect by staying through the next 10 years or so.

To anyone who wants it, I can help them acquire the skills to reduce the paranoia, and increase their patience and preparation.

It is not hard to do this. It just takes some commitment on the part of the family and a few hours of time.

I don't think that the agenda of PATB is sinister.

I think that it is not positive, that it is whiney and emotional, and does not have an agenda except to respond emotionally to the issue of the day.

I am trying to have a focused productive agenda here for anyone who wants to play.
